Majestic 12 – An Overview Majestic 12 Majestic 12 (or MJ-12) is an alleged secret government organization that appears in UFO conspiracy theories. The U.S. government has never officially acknowledged its existence. It is so secret that it is purported to be above the President of the United States in its scope of information controlled and its programs/projects which are allegedly funded via Black Ops projects (Note as an example: On Sept. 10, 2001, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld testified before Congress that the Pentagon could not account for a missing $2.3 trillion in expenditures – files of which coincidentally were permanently lost in the 911 World Trade Center “terrorist” attack).  Alleged Original Majestic 12 Members The organization is claimed to be the code name of an alleged secret committee of scientists, military leaders, and government officials, formed in 1947 by an executive order by then U.S. President Harry S. Truman to facilitate the recovery and secret investigation of alien spacecraft. The organization was allegedly established to report directly and solely to the President of the United States.  The concept and alleged existence of this top secret organization came to public’s attention through a series of supposedly leaked top secret government documents that were first circulated by UFOlogists in 1984. Upon examination of the supposed leaked MJ-12 documents, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) declared the documents to be “completely bogus”, and many ufologists consider them to be an elaborate hoax. Ufologists Linda Moulton Howe and Stanton T. Friedman (now deceased) believe(d) the MJ-12 documents to be authentic. Friedman examined the documents and argued that the United States government has conspired to cover up knowledge of a crashed extraterrestrial spacecraft. Majestic 12 remains popular among some UFO conspiracy theorists and the concept has appeared in popular culture including television, film and literature.
