Cooperation and Unity: by Joseph Bruni
The topic and the subject of the "End Times" and "The Coming of the Anti-Christ" and all its related ideas and issues can at times become a heated subject, with many arguments, hurt feelings, etc on both sides. But just because it can be such a heated subject, should we just stop talking about it? No. We should discuss it all the more. In a recent post I had analyzed the work of an article Patrick Heron had written. I felt what he had said, was in my opinion, not right. What I felt he had said that wasn't right was such a small thing, when compared to the overall subject being discussed. Since that post, I & Mr. Heron have had several email exchanges, all good, and I was able to get to know him better, and he got to know me. Dialog. It was exactly what was needed. I watched 3 video's that Patrick had made, and after watching them, I found that I agreed with 99.9% of what he was saying. I have learned that we need to "hear each other out", and to "not answer a matter before we have heard it" as it says in proverbs. There are many wonderful Bible teachers that we just need to "hear out" and not to jump to premature conclusions. We need to look to the end of the road, not at all the little bumps.
The end is coming, and we all need to be working together and not against each other. So to anyone who will be reading this, please know that we all can sometimes "agree to disagree" and still be friends. Let's continue on with spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. All of us should be motivated as never before to search the scriptures whether these things be so.
Here are a couple of verse from the book of Acts that I really like.
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
This my friends is what we all need to be doing, searching the scriptures daily.
In this next case, here is a gentleman who was "mighty in the scriptures", and when he had met Aquila and Priscilla they "expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly."
Act 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
Act 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
Act 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Act 18:27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
Act 18:28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
So we all can help each other to know the Lord more perfectly and be a blessing to the body of Christ. We can all show by the scriptures that Jesus was and is indeed the Christ. May God Bless each and every one.
