We
hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed
by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these
are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure
these rights, Governments are instituted among Men,
deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –
That
whenever
any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends,
it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to
institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles
and organizing its powers in such form, as
to them shall seem most likely
to effect their Safety and Happiness.
“As
to them seems most likely ……..”
Let’s
suppose, for a minute, that you are Satan. {don’t panic, we’re
only supposing} [for
those who don’t believe in Satan’s existence, it doesn’t
matter.]
Secondly,
let’s suppose that you wanted to abolish a Christian Constitutional
Republic.
How
would you go about it?
Patiently,
using the tool of “education.”
How
long might it take for you to accomplish your feat?
One
or maybe two generations (counting forty years as a generation)
Forty
years would take in the Parents and Children of a family.
However,
if we count a generation as seventy years, we would include
Grandparents, Parents and Children.
What
would be a good method?
Let’s
use the seventy-year plan:
When
great-grandma and great-grandpa are in school, you begin to destroy
reading skills by eliminating a phonetic approach.
You
begin teaching about the accomplishments of people in a secular vein
(inventors, artists, authors, politicians, teachers, entertainers,
etc.)
You
include – but at a lesser level of importance – some of the
heroic personalities of our nation’s past. (Pilgrims, Evangelists,
Patriots [both civil and military] and maybe even entertainers, who
were “proud to be an American.”)
{Franklin
Roosevelt, Will Rogers, and Babe Ruth become “great men;” George
Washington, William Blackstone, and John Calvin become unknown.}
You
introduce a character called “Mother Nature” and identify her as
“blesser” or “curser” depending on what kind of weather you
might be having.
God
is either “love” or irrelevant.
You
replace the study of history by developing a course called “social
studies.”
You
begin to emphasize the importance of learning science and math and
de-emphasize the learning of the Ten Commandments and replace them
with words like “kindness,” “charity,” “respect,”
“toleration,” etc. Your goal, in doing this, is to prepare the
mind for the rejection of “sin” and “judgment,” and to view
all sorts of moral behavior as “autonomous and situational.”
You
remove the Parent and the Pastor as the chief instructors of the
children and replace them with “trained professionals.”
Now,
once you have activated your plan, you intensify it in the way you
prepare those who will be the instructors of the following
generations.
By
the time you reach the great-grandchildren, you would have
successfully established a character that sees great personal
achievement as a “greedy crime,” believes that “government”
is to be its provider and is willing to live at the bottom of the
“economic scale” with almost no personal freedom.
It
should be fairly obvious that the form of government that this last
group would consider “most likely to effect their safety and
happiness,” is one that is their complete master.
This
group would eagerly reject the safeguards of the current
Constitution, view those safeguards as deterrents to their
“happiness,” and willingly accept a new one that sounds good to
their foolish mind, but actually surrenders all of their personal
freedom.
The
Bible describes those who are working for the enslavement of their
neighbors as, those who “promise freedom, while being servants of
corruption” themselves.
How
has God dealt with conditions like this throughout history?
He
has historically dealt with this tyranny by opening the scriptures to
people.
Isn’t
that simple? No, it isn’t!
Satan
has so successfully carried out his plan, that at least three
generations have become ignorant of and indifferent to Biblical
truth. These generations are “wise in their own eyes” and,
therefore, unwilling to be taught.
The
Biblical, Christian, Patriotic zeal is almost gone.
Pray
that the Lord will grant a generation of people who are hungry and
thirsty for righteousness and that He will compel them to seek the
clear and honest instruction of His Word.
As
for you, “examine yourself to see whether you are in the Faith,”
then, if you are, offer yourself as an ambassador for Christ, whom He
can ordain to be His messenger to those people.
Satan
never rests ----- neither should we.
