"For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of
yourselves, it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, that no
one should boast."(Ephesians 2:8-9). You cannot earn your way
there by good deeds or praying or fasting or saying Hail Mary's or
keeping kosher or obeying the Sabbath.
But on whom we know:
"And he (the thief on the cross next to Jesus) was saying 'Jesus
remember me when you come into your Kingdom, and Jesus said to him,
'truly I say to you today you shall be with me in Paradise."(Luke
23:42-43)
"There is salvation in no one else for there is no other name (but
Jesus Christ) under heaven that has been given among men by which we
must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
You cannot get there without knowing Jesus and no none else.
Damnation, i.e. going to hell and being separated from God
forever, is not based either on what we do but on what we don't do
and who we do not know.
"There will be retribution to those who do not know God and do not
obey the gospel of Lord Jesus."(2 Thessalonians 1:8-9).
That is why there are some former thieves,
murderers, adulterers, homosexuals, serial killers, rapists, Satanists,
atheists, agnostics, Gnostics, witches, psychics, astrologers,
mediums, UFO devotees, paranormal researchers, DaVinci code believers
and other so called "bad" people in Heaven and some Christian
Crusaders, Church Inquisitors, unrepentant Popes, evangelical preachers,
priests, nuns, bishops, Nobel Peace Prize Winners, philanthropists,
caregivers as well as many other so called "good" people in Hell. This
is why there are some former Nazis, Buddhists,
Muslims, Jews and indigenous peoples in Heaven and some Virgin Mary
worshipping Catholics and Lord Jesus denying Mormons and other
hypocritical, self proclaimed so called Christian explorers and
missionaries in Hell. We cannot earn our way into Heaven by our good
deeds and we cannot earn our way into hell by our bad deeds.
Our eternal destiny, no matter what that may ultimately be, thus
depends entirely upon our relationship with Jesus Christ not on our
deeds (works) no matter how good or how bad they may have been. For
Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection on the third day
provides for repentance for forgiveness of all sins (Luke
24:46-47) and thus all who call upon the name of the
Lord Jesus will be saved (Romans 10:13)
no matter how "bad" they may have been. Likewise, all who do not call
upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, no matter how "good" they may
have been, will perish. Thus nobody is too bad or sinful not to be
forgiven and washed clean by the blood of Christ and likewise nobody is
too good not to need their sins forgiven. All one needs to do is call
on Jesus and repent.
"Those who perish because they did not receive the love of the
truth as to be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10).
Thus it is all about what He did not what we did!
"If it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works
otherwise grace is no longer grace" (Romans 11:6).
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting
life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16-17).
Thank God for His amazing grace and mercy shown to all of
us unworthy sinners.
It is that simple. It is all about Him not about us.
The time for salvation is now! No excuses!
