Holy war with "snakes" on a plane!

By Dr. Stephen Yulish - February 8, 2010

If you were ever confronted by a rattlesnake on a plane (as in that horrible movie) or anywhere else for that matter, what would you do ? Would you attempt to talk your way out of this potentially deadly experience? Would you put your arms around the snake and sing cumbaya to the sound of the bloodcurdling rattling noise? Would you read it it's Miranda rights and give it a lawyer? Of course you would not. You would kill that snake by any means available without a moment's hesitation. Let me ask you then, why do you want to talk to radical Muslim fanatics ('snakes') terrorists and plane hijackers like the Christmas day underwear bomber that have repeatedly told you that they want you all to convert to Islam or to die? They don't want to be your friend anymore than does that rattlesnake.

Where does this notion of dialogue with evil come from? It originates, in my opinion, partly from the concepts developed in the so called French Enlightenment period blended with a little cockeyed romanticism. In response to the perceived overbearing concept of the divine right of kings, a new view of man sprung up in the in the 18th century age of science and reason which said that man was born good, a so called 'noble savage'. I used to lecture my college students on the philosophy of Jean Jacques Rousseau whose influential 1762 book, The Social Contract, stated that 'man is born free and everywhere is in chains'. Rousseau wrote that all men are good by nature but are corrupted and enslaved by kings and tyrants. This thought led to the French Revolution and the overthrow of the French monarchy. Unfortunately, the good noble savage when freed from royal authority proceeded to then butcher thousands of his own countrymen in the Reign of Terror. This happened because, as the Bible says, man is not inherently good but is by nature a fallen sinful creature that needs a Savior We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.

This, what we call today, a secular progressive viewpoint, permeates Western Civilization. First of all, it results in nobody taking personal responsibility for their actions. Your mommy, daddy, husband, wife, grandpa, teacher, boss, Twinkies, dope, alcohol, or the infidels, made you do it. Since the notion of man as a sinner has been removed from societal discourse, then your misdeeds must be caused by something else because you all are basically good people. Secondly, this kind of mindset, leads one to believe that all problems can be worked out by just talking. People are of course basically all good and you can work out your differences. The Bible says that the heart is deceitful above all things.

It says in the Koran that one is not to lie unless one is defending Islam to an infidel. How can one then expect a dialogue to honestly resolve differences' Look at Arafat. He lied for a living. Look at Usama bin Laden or the President of Iran or the head of Hezbollah or of Hamas or the President of Syria. They all have repeatedly told us falsehoods. How can we expect an open dialogue with such unrepentant people to resolve anything.

A few years back, Fox reporter Steve Centanni and his cameraman were kidnapped by Islamic terrorists. They were forced to 'convert' to Islam before a camera. They were coerced to read propaganda statements about how peaceful Islam really was while guns off camera were pointed at them. Once again, these fanatics lied to the viewing audience. How can one talk to people who try and convince you that Islam is a peaceful religion at the point of a gun, and if you don't convert they will kill you' One Muslim cleric just called Britney Spears a prostitute and told her to covert to Islam or he would cut her head off.  That's peaceful!

Unlike Christianity which preaches life and forgiveness and restoration through the shed blood of Jesus Christ who died so we could have eternal life, Islam preaches death for its sons and daughters in a martyrdom act of suicide and killing. Jesus told us to turn the other cheek and love our enemies while Muhammad told us to kill the infidels. How can there be a dialogue.

The Israelis gave back Gaza and part of the West Bank as negotiated. Is there peace? Of course there is not. They are now asked to give back the entire West Bank and even part of Jerusalem to create a Palestinian State. Will that be enough? Of course it will not, because again, Islam is allowed to lie to the infidels and they want the Jews out of their Holy land.

Honest dialogue will never work in bringing peace with radical Islam. Their idea of peace is when the entire world is Muslim. Any attempts to work out peace short of this goal will fail. They may tell us that they will stop trying to overrun the West if we leave Iraq or Saudi Arabia, or stop supporting Israel, but they will be lying to further Islam. Putting your arms around then and singing cumbaya or giving them a lawyer or giving them all the rights of an american citizen will not work with them. These fanatics are not good but are evil people.

Wake up America and realize that neither appeasement nor withdrawal nor retreat will ever work against such an enemy. This is a holy war for the souls of your children and grandchildren. You need to fight for your way of life, for western civilization, just as you would against the imminent threat of a underwear bomber or a 9/11 type terrorist or a 'snake' on a plane.
