The Rapture & Wrath of God Query

Recently I posted a view by Patrick Heron that was well represented on the issue of the

Pre-tribulation rapture held view that is most popular among many evangelicals today.

My post today is primarily designed to say I truly hope this view is the more correct position

or interpretation concerning this ominous event .

However you may have already guessed I do hold some reservations on this line of thinking.

Let me simply ask some questions without offering a more valid truth than Patrick and others

are suggesting.

First on the issue of (God has not appointed us unto wrath ) I like that thought it is really

comforting to me, but the thought that follows that view is this.

Is the wrath of God only for the living? Or is there another wrath that we are more correctly

protected from.?

It has been pointed out that there will be a large number of believers during the tribulation that will

suffer the Wrath of Satan, to the point they love not their lives unto  their death.

                                                                                                but also remember

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, ( what day? the coming of the Lord

except there come a falling away first, And that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”

While I believe in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, I am not sure we can dogmatically declare

based on scripture that it will happen before the limited wrath that God pours out during the Tribulation period.

I also would not limit God's ability to protect from his wrath that occurs during the tribulation;

those who are offering their loyalty to his mercy and grace to the point of dying during Satan's

Wrath.

You may be asking What is your point please?

It is this; could it be possible the wrath of God that we are protected from is the (Eternal Wrath)

of God in the Lake of fire prepared for the Devil and his angels?

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

and

Rev 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

We are told in 2nd Thess: Chapter 2 there will be a great falling away in the end times because

people refused to believe the truth that has been presented to us through the prophets and apostles.

To me the tribulation refining fire is more likely to be the cause of such a huge falling away as

believer's have grown cold or luke warm in their walk and love life with Jesus Christ

                                                                                                   again remember

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, ( what day? the coming of the Lord )

except there come a falling away first, And that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”

Some have suggested that there will be a great desire by many to get right with Christ after this

great catching out of believer's who were prepared; while I cannot deny that may happen, it would

seem more likely that due to the persecution most would avoid a claim of faith in Christ at ALL

cost.

The implication of the 10 virgin account is not that the foolish 5 who are left behind will inherit an invite to life ,but will be turned away with out hope of a union with Christ.

Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

So while this query does not resolve the issue of when and how these events will transpire, it may encourage us to prepare our hearts and lives to be totally surrendered to the will of Jesus Christ now; whether it be through life, or death, or through Victory, or,Temporary Defeat.

WE WILL QUALIFY FOR THE EVENT WHEN EVER IT HAPPENS IF WE REALISE WE ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE WE ARE NOT OUR OWN.

This again is key :

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, ( what day? the coming of the Lord )

except there come a falling away first, ( And that man of sin be revealed ), the son of perdition.”

One final scriptual application  that may reflect the wrath we are to be delivered from

Rev:14: 9 thru 13

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Thanks for taking the time to consider these thoughts.

The tribulation debate
I think the pre trib & post trib debate is a big subject & I have studied both sides of the debate, read tons of books on each. My conclusion is, If Jesus takes me before the tribulation, fantastic, I'm ready. But if He doesn't come until after the tribulation, then I'm ready for that too. I'm preparing as if I will go through the tribulation, but if I get raptured, I'm sure not going to complain. I think each individual needs to pray & get their answers from the Lord, He will speak to us if we will take the time to listen. GBY Jim for this fantastic web site, one of my favorites.
